Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know about CYBERPUNKDLE, from the daily reset to the way the character data is checked.
What is CYBERPUNKDLE?
CYBERPUNKDLE is a free daily guessing game based on Cyberpunk 2077, in the spirit of Wordle and Loldle. Every day brings a new puzzle in six modes: find a character from attribute clues, a blurred portrait, a few emojis, a quote or a signature weapon, or name an iconic weapon from its photo.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is completely free, with no account, no sign-up and nothing to download. The site is funded by advertising, which pays for hosting and the domain name.
When does a new puzzle come out?
Once a day, at the same moment for every player in the world. When you finish a daily puzzle, a countdown tells you how long until the next one.
Is the puzzle the same for everyone?
Yes. The answer depends only on the day and the mode, not on your language or your device, so you can compare your score with anyone.
How many guesses do I get?
Classic and Portrait are unlimited: you play until you find the answer. Emoji, Quote, Weapon and Arsenal give you eight guesses in the daily challenge, and the answer is revealed if you run out.
What do the green, orange and red colours mean?
In Classic mode, green means the attribute is identical to the answer’s, orange means it is close (same camp of factions, at least one shared role, or an age within five years) and red means no match. The guide explains every column in detail.
Can I play past puzzles or practise?
Past daily puzzles cannot be replayed, but every mode has an Infinite button that generates a random practice puzzle. You can play as many as you like and they do not affect your statistics.
Where are my statistics saved?
In your browser’s local storage, on your device only. Nothing is sent to our server. If you clear your browsing data or change device, your statistics start again from zero.
Which characters are in the game?
43 characters from Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion: V’s closest allies, the Arasaka family, fixers, gang leaders and other figures of Night City. You can browse them all in the character database.
Why isn’t V one of the characters?
V is the player character. Their gender, appearance and background are chosen by each player, so V has no fixed attributes to guess.
Does the site contain spoilers?
A few. The Classic grid shows whether each character is alive or deceased, and the character profiles describe their place in the story. We never describe the endings, but if you have not finished Cyberpunk 2077 yet, expect some story details.
What if a character’s fate depends on my choices?
Several fates in Cyberpunk 2077 depend on the player’s decisions. In those cases we pick one reference value and use it everywhere, so that the puzzle has a single answer for everyone. It may differ from what happened in your own playthrough.
Where does the data come from?
Character attributes are compared with the Cyberpunk Wiki on Fandom, quotes come from Wikiquote and the Cyberpunk Wiki, and weapon names and classes were checked against the game’s own item data. Values the game never states are shown as “unknown” instead of being guessed. The About page describes the method in more detail.
Is CYBERPUNKDLE an official game?
No. It is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by CD PROJEKT RED. Cyberpunk 2077 and its characters are trademarks of CD PROJEKT RED.
Which languages are available?
English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Japanese and Chinese. Use the language menu at the top of the page. Character names and Night City jargon keep their original form.
