Hanako Arasaka

Hanako Arasaka is the youngest child and only daughter of Saburo Arasaka, and one of the most secretive figures at Arasaka. Her father kept her away from the outside world, raising her inside the family compound near Tokyo with hand-picked tutors. The Net became her window on everything she could not see in person, and she grew into a formidable netrunner, largely self-taught. She is also widely believed to have helped her brother Yorinobu return to the family after his years of rebellion.

Hanako has never held an official position in the company, yet rumors about her influence behind the scenes keep growing, and her legal team works hard to keep them out of print. She remains close to her father, acting as a trusted representative of his interests, and she accompanies him when he sails to Night City in 2077.

After Saburo’s death, Hanako stays in the city and delivers his eulogy during a memorial parade in Japantown, where Goro Takemura, her father’s former bodyguard, plans to get to her with V’s help. From that point she becomes one of the major figures V has to deal with in the main story, and her fate depends on the path V chooses toward the finale.
