Biography
Dum Dum is a Maelstrom ganger and Royce’s right-hand man at the All Foods plant in Northside, Watson. When Royce seized the gang from Brick, those who had backed the takeover were rewarded, and Dum Dum rose to a prominent role. By Maelstrom standards he is unusually tactful, with a knack for diplomacy that makes him the gang’s natural go-between with outsiders. He gets along remarkably well with his volatile boss and openly worries about him.
V and Jackie Welles meet him in The Pickup. Dum Dum buzzes them into the factory and hosts the negotiation, even offering V a hit from his inhaler first. He then shows off the stolen Militech Flathead, steering it through his own cyberware and explaining that the gang swapped its control unit so the bot cannot be traced. When Royce loses his temper over the payment, Dum Dum sides with his boss without a second thought.
His fate depends on how the deal ends. If the job collapses into violence, Dum Dum does not survive it. If V pays, he can come through alive and even shows the mercs a way out. V may then meet him again at the Totentanz during the side job Second Conflict, where he guards a door and admits he prefers old Samurai records to his gang’s music. He is also an antagonist in the tie-in novel Cyberpunk 2077: No Coincidence.
