Judy Álvarez

Judy Álvarez is a braindance editor and techie with few equals in Night City. She works out of the basement of Lizzie’s Bar in Kabuki, Watson, headquarters of the Mox, a gang founded to protect sex workers and others the city leaves without defense. Big entertainment corps would pay well for her talent, but Judy refuses to work for them, and she cannot stay quiet when she sees people exploited.

Judy grew up in Laguna Bend, a small town on the edge of the Badlands later flooded for a reservoir, and learned her trade from her grandfather, a techie. She then worked as a braindance technician at Clouds, an upscale dollhouse in Japantown, where she became best friends with the doll Evelyn Parker and dated Maiko Maeda. Evelyn brings V to her, and Judy teaches V to analyze a braindance so the crew can study Yorinobu Arasaka’s suite before the Konpeki Plaza heist.

After the heist, Judy and V join forces to learn what happened to Evelyn, an investigation that drags them through the city’s illegal braindance market and into a fight with the Tyger Claws over the future of Clouds. Her side jobs also include a dive into the drowned ruins of her hometown. Judy is a romance option for a female V, and depending on how V handles the Clouds affair, she may stay close or cut ties for good.
