Biography
Sandra Dorsett is a netrunner with a well-paid corporate job at Night Corp. She comes across as quiet and cautious, but her database entry describes a meticulous professional who also runs the Net after hours on projects of her own, a hobby that nearly costs her life.
She is the missing person at the heart of The Rescue, the first playable job after the prologue, which the fixer Wakako Okada passes to V and Jackie Welles. Scavengers, the gang that strips victims for organs and implants, have abducted Sandra and jammed her biomonitor with a chip forced into her neuroport, so her Platinum Trauma Team coverage never kicks in. With T-Bug opening the way, V finds her lying in an ice-filled bathtub, pulls the jammer and has to keep her alive with an airhypo when she starts to flatline, until a Trauma Team AV arrives to take her away.
Sandra later reaches out to V herself in the minor job Full Disclosure. During the abduction she lost a databank holding information she had quietly taken from her employer, and she wants it back without anyone reading it. How V treats the data shapes the meeting at her Little China apartment. Her surname may be a nod to Henry Dorsett Case, the hacker hero of William Gibson’s Neuromancer.
