Saul Bright

Saul Bright leads the Aldecaldos family camped in the Badlands outside Night City, the nomad clan Panam Palmer belongs to. He took charge during a fragile period and has been trying to secure the family’s future ever since. Breaking with the smuggling other Aldecaldos still live on, he opened negotiations with Biotechnica, asking to be paid in farming equipment rather than eddies so the clan could grow its own food.

That corporate deal splits the camp, and Panam is its fiercest opponent, to the point of leaving the clan for a time. V crosses paths with Saul in the main job Life During Wartime, when he arrives with the family to back Panam up and ends up arguing with her. In the side job Riders on the Storm, Saul is captured by the Wraiths, a Raffen Shiv gang, and Panam asks V to slip into their camp and get him out.

Saul is stubborn and principled, a leader who owns his decisions but rarely gives ground. Panam idolized him in his more adventurous days and fondly recalls stories from that time, such as the time he moved civilians across the border under bombardment. His clashes with her, especially over her plan to steal a Militech tank in With a Little Help from My Friends, put V in the middle of a family dispute, and V’s choice there shapes the rest of the Aldecaldos storyline.
