Solomon Reed

Solomon Reed is a veteran agent of the FIA, the intelligence agency of the New United States, and one of the most accomplished operatives the NUSA has. A former special forces soldier, he has spent his career on covert work, from foiling assassination plots and negotiating with kidnappers to far murkier operations in South America. Personal glory never interested him; serving his country did, whatever the job required. During the Unification War he ran the FIA’s spy network in Night City.

When the war was lost for the NUSA in 2070, his cell was disbanded and Reed dropped out of sight. He stayed in Night City as a sleeper agent, waiting years for the call that would bring him back into service, and paid his bills in the meantime by working as a bouncer.

That call comes in Phantom Liberty. After Space Force One goes down in Dogtown, President Myers has V reach out to Reed, and the two first meet on a basketball court. Together with fellow agent Alex, they set out to get Myers out of Dogtown, and their mission soon extends to Songbird, the netrunner who brought V there and Reed’s former protégée. Reed is played by Idris Elba, who also performed the character’s motion capture.
