Songbird

Song So Mi, codenamed Songbird, is an exceptionally gifted netrunner who works for the FIA, the intelligence agency of the New United States (NUSA), and serves as President Rosalind Myers’ right hand. Raised in Brooklyn, she began as a freelance netrunner in her teens and built a reputation for taking contracts nobody else would touch, while corporate data fortresses rarely held her back for long. A breach of a Militech datafort put her on the FIA’s radar, and agent Solomon Reed brought her into the agency.

In Phantom Liberty, Songbird reaches V through the Relic just as Space Force One, the presidential spaceplane carrying Myers, is going down over Dogtown. She asks V to get the President out alive before Barghest, the militia that controls the district, can capture her. In return she promises a cure for the Relic that is slowly killing V, and as a sign of good faith she unlocks new abilities in the chip.

That deal drags V into a spy story with Songbird at its center. Over the course of the expansion V learns more about her past with the FIA, and how her story ends depends on V’s choices. She is voiced by Minji Chang.
